FAT CAT...no literally!

Hey!

guess what! Remember I told you I saw my parents yesterday? Well...as soon as my mom saw the cat (Jules) she said *imagine thick brit accent please*

"What the bloody hell have you been doing to that cat? It's bloody enormous...awww thats cruel, that is."

Ahem....ok.  Naturally my mom would notice such a thing... even in cats...lol.  So..I weighed the little thing.  She was 8 pounds when I got her....yesterday she was....almost 12!!!
OMG I'm a horrible mother!!

Clearly I cannot even control a CATS weight...let alone my own!!  I zipped out to Pet Valu and bought her some 'choice' diet food.  The guy I talked to was awesome...he said...the regular pet food we give our animals is pretty much...crap.  Its like their version of junk food.  It doesn't really fill them up and its not really good for them.  No wonder she's so...ahem...stinky.  The good stuff costs at least double....but am I really surprised?  Funny how animal food so closely mirrors our food.  Hell if I ate Taco Bell every day I'd get massive too!! AND it would be a lot cheaper than buying fresh organic produce.

Anyway....check out kittys weight loss roll on the side of my blog! I'll weigh her in every Monday too! lol.

PS.  AND No worries...I've learnt from yesterday's little catastrophe...here's what I found out yesterday...
  • Don't weigh myself between official weigh-ins EVER
  • Don't use all my points for the day on one meal...especially on WI day
  • Don't come home from said WI and use up two-thirds of my weekly allowance of flex because you're starving and mad
  • Don't assume coz you had a big meal at lunch that you won't need to eat dinner....you'll just eat twice as much
  • Don't have massive expectations all the time
  • Stop being such a whiny, sucky baby and appreciate little victories
  • Move on from bad days!
Part of my moving on was a fabulous hour long session on the elliptical this morning.  I may or may not attend hot yoga tonight.  I've been thinking about it since yesterday! Will keep you updated! Gotta get rid of the unneccesary calories from the crap from last night....although if my definition of a binge now is....

  •  At least 5 points of veggie chips
    A boiled egg
  • About 15 triscuits
  • A Light Laughing Cow wedge

Then I clearly haven't been doing too badly :)

Happy weigh loss-ing!

That made me giggle about your cat! I think they can be little piggies sometimes. As for your weigh in, hey you lost weight! Awesome! I always hated weighing in in the middle of the day. It's hard to go a whole day (even half a day) without eating though.

one of my cats is probably 15-20 pounds. he is so heavy i can barely pick him up. he was adopted recently so i can't blame it on myself but OMG he needs to be on diet food! i love the weighing him in thing... too cute!

I didn't comment last night but I weigh in on Tuesday nights and I always make that my lightest eating day. I eat a light bfast and lunch and try and wait for my afternoon snack until after weigh in. i find this helps me get a close as i can to my actual AM weight and it allows me to indulge a little more at dinner time. Just make sure you aren't toooo hungry come dinner. Plus 1 pounds is awesome!! I have learned through ww to be very excited over ANY loss at least it's not a gain!

Aren't kitties so much cuter when they are big? I love big cats and so I think she deserves a little less diet food and a little more cheese!!

Oh wait no, I am thinking about myself...argh I want some cheese.

Those laughing cow cheeses are actually pretty good - how many points? 1 I think.

I'll give you an amazing treat - 1 point for 1/2 cup of this dip, all it is is Fat Free cottage cheese mixed with Ranch dip mix - dip veggies in it all day and be guilt free!! Mmmmmmmmmm!!

Ha Ha! My kitty is 17 lbs. ! He is a mini monster ! His paws alone are huge !!! But I love him anyway ! Yours reminds me of mine, but smaller !Isn't it great when a "binge" is not even a fraction of what it used to be? I can remember eating a box of Little Debbie snack cakes and a bag of chips and think nothing of it ! So glad times have changed !

Bahahaha... your mom's comment made me laugh out loud! :)

I believe in investing in high quality foods to keep the fur babies healthy. Its totally worth it!

We're quite strict with the food we give our cats - we weigh it out all the time. Yet one of them is still porkier than the other! She just does less exercise.
Btw. it does you good sometimes to have a blow out once a week (not 3 days' worth of points in one sitting clearly, but to go over your points a bit) - it kick starts the metabolism. Mine is always Thursday nights after WI.
You're doing great!
